These terms govern your use of Brew Vero (the "Service"), a web application operated by EMajd Marketing Inc. ("we", "us") under the Barista in Pajamas brand. By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.
Brew Vero estimates the particle size distribution of coffee grounds from a photograph taken on a printed calibration mat and provides a private brew journal with recipes, ratings, tasting notes, experiments, analytics, optional device capture, data portability, private-link sharing, and an opt-in public recipe Commons.
The Service is an estimation tool, not a laboratory instrument. Measurements are limited by camera resolution, lighting, and sample preparation; particles below roughly 100 µm are not reliably detected. Brew-method scores and flavour projections are heuristics derived from particle geometry alone: they do not account for roast level, bean density, water chemistry, or recipe. Do not rely on Brew Vero for commercial quality control, product claims, scientific publication, or any purpose requiring calibrated accuracy.
You keep ownership of everything you submit: photos, analyses, profile details, journal records, recipes, and grinder or coffee entries. By submitting a grinder or coffee for the public catalogue, or deliberately publishing a recipe to Brew Vero Commons, you grant us a non-exclusive permission to display, format, and moderate that public content for operation of the Service. You may remove your own Commons recipe. We may edit, decline, hide, or remove public submissions that are unsafe, misleading, infringing, abusive, duplicative, or irrelevant.
Your private journal, saved recipe book, analyses, experiments, water profiles, and coffee lots are not published automatically. Sharing a private link makes the information encoded in that link readable to anyone who receives it; you are responsible for deciding where to send it.
Don't use the Service to: break the law; submit abusive, misleading, or infringing content; attempt to access other users' data; probe or disrupt our infrastructure; scrape the Service at scale; or resell access without our written permission.
The Commons is for coffee recipes and practical brewing context. It is not a place for personal attacks, advertising spam, dangerous device instructions, deceptive product claims, or content that reveals another person's private information. Repeated misuse may result in removal of public content or account suspension.
The Brew Vero calibration mat is provided for personal use in measuring your own coffee. You may print as many copies as you like. Please don't sell it, or distribute modified versions that claim compatibility with Brew Vero.
The Service is provided free of charge and we may change, suspend, or discontinue it at any time. We'll make reasonable effort to give notice of significant changes, but we don't guarantee uptime, device compatibility, import completeness, data retention, or backward compatibility. Export your data regularly if it matters to you: versioned backup and restore controls are on your profile page.
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that measurements will be accurate, that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that defects will be corrected.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, EMajd Marketing Inc. will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, revenue, or profits, arising from your use of or inability to use the Service, including any decision made on the basis of a measurement or projection it produced. Our total aggregate liability arising out of these terms will not exceed CAD $50.
Some jurisdictions don't allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
The Service runs on Google Firebase (authentication, database, hosting). Your use is also subject to Google's terms. The analysis method is adapted from Jonathan Gagné's open-source coffeegrindsize project, used under the MIT licence.
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, with notice where practical.
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable there. Disputes will be heard in the courts of Ontario.
We may update these terms. Material changes will be noted by updating the date at the top of this page, and where significant, by notice in the app. Continuing to use the Service after changes means you accept them.
